Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is an enchanting tale of a young girl named
Maron. Maron is a normal schoolgirl by day, but fights evil during
the night. Maron is accompanied by her angel sidekick, Fin Fish.
Everything is going just fine for Maron until a new boy, Chiaki,
moves next door. At that time a mysterious rival for Jeanne, Kaitou
Sinbad, appears.
I absolutely loved this manga! KKJ is a great shoujo manga. There are
lots of love triangles, friendship matters and a girl in a cute
dress, kicking butt! I personally enjoyed the art and I thought the
character development was well done. Maron and Chiaki are the couple
you know should be together, but take forever to get together. There
were some religious themes, and since Maron is a reincarnation of
Jeanne D'Arc (Joan of Arc) the Christian Religion appears frequently.
This story would be enjoyed by a variety of ages, especially young
teenage girls.

It was created by Arina Tanemura. It has not been published in
English yet. There is a anime of this series (which I loved). It is
about 30 volumes long. (I believe that's the length in Ribbon though.
>_>; ) I don't really know... @_@
There is very slight swearing now and then, some religious themes, as
well as some mature themes (not too mature...) Okay for maybe 12 and
up. I highly recommend it!

Maron Kusakabe- Maron is modern day reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc.
She lives by herself with her angel sidekick, Fin Fish. Besides
Maron's magical powers and occupation of fighting evil, she is a
normal girl. Maron has some issues with being alone and getting close
to people. Her parents don't live with her, and don't make much
effort to contact her. The mailbox is significant in this series
because she often waits for a letter from them... Maron is also
kind-hearted, brave and athletic. Jeanne represents God, and fights
for him. |

Chiaki Nagoya (Kaitou Sinbad)- At the beginning of the first book
Chiaki moves in next door to Maron (also alone). He doesn't make a
good impression on her. ^_^; Chiaki also has a secret personality. By
night he is Kaitou Sinbad, the rival of Kaitou Jeanne! He is always
trying to get Maron to go out with him. He is very persistent, brave
and a little immature at times. It seems to me, he has trouble
expressing his feelings. Chiaki lives with his sidekick, Access Time.
Chiaki represents Satan... (but he's not evil....)

Fin Fish: Maron's sidekick, and loyal friend... or so it seems. Fin
is always there for Maron and cherishes their friendship. Though, it
seems Fin is not as she seems... 9I'm not going to tell you what I
mean, you'll just have to read the manga. ^^)

Access Time: Chiaki's sidekick, and devoted friend to Fin. Access
actually is in love with Fin. But he's always shot down by Fin.
Nonetheless, he never gives up. He'll stick by Fin no matter what.
(It's really sweet.)

Miyako Toudaiji- Maorn's best friends. She is always bossing Maron
around and yelling at her, but she really cares about her friends,
and Maron knows it. Miyako is the daughter of a police officer, and
often tries to catch Kaitou Jeanne. Miyako actually comes closer to
catching her then the police. -_-; Miyako also loves Chiaki, but is
loyal to Maron.

Noin Claude: (Okay.. I have no idea about that last name... bad
memory..) He is a major bad guy, but becomes a little nicer close to
the end. Noin is the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc's boyfriend. He is
still in love with Jeanne and will do anything to get her back. |
